Fulltilt Loses Alderney Gaming Licence – Bwin-Party Stocks Soar

The Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) has today suspended the gaming licences of online poker room FullTilt Poker. The knock on effect is immediate suspension of all operations from the jurisdiction with immediate effect.

The decision to suspend these licenses follows a special investigation prompted by the indictments unsealed by US Attorney General’s Office in the Southern District of New York on 15th April 2011, during which grounds were found to indicate that these licensees and their business associates were operating contrary to Alderney legislation.

Merge Skins Confirm: No Rakeback on Merge after 1st June

We just received this email from PokerNordica, one of the poker sites (skins) running on the Merge Poker Nework. They confirm the speculation that new players on the network will not be eligible for rakeback, however players who create accounts before 1st June will be eligible to carry their rakeback deal forward.

Changes – Effective 1st of June 2011:

Merge will no longer allow any rakeback to be offered to ANY new players.
Any players that currently receive rakeback at Poker Nordica will not be affected by this change for now.

Merge Rakeback Stops 1st June – Get locked in at 35% now

Traffic on the Merge poker network is up a massive 61% since online poker’s recent “Black Friday” (the seizing of US domains and effective cessation of online poker for Americans). Sources inside Merge have apparently leaked information which states that the network and all poker sites on the network will be ending their poker rakeback deal with players effective 1st of June 2011. The Merge Poker Network includes popular rooms like PokerNordica, BigBet Poker , FeltStars, RPM Poker, Spin32 and Carbon.

UPDATE: Merge has announced that existing Rakeback players and new players who sign up for rakeback before June 1st will most likely have their account “grandfathered” in terms of rakeback.

Poker players should sign up for an account TODAY to get locked in at 35% rakeback (or their VIP Program equivalent) in the future on merge.

Poker affiliates can look forward to increased revenues as players will no doubt have to work harder to earn any poker loyalty rewards, (via rake) – with small-stakes recreational players unlikely to receive any benefits (meaning more rake filling revenue share coffers for the network, skins and affiliates).

Full Tilt Refusing to Pay Affiliates for US Based Player Revenues

It seems that Full Tilt is “ripping off” affiliates by not paying them for revenues generated by US based players. This follows the recent events of “Black Friday”, where poker domains were seized by the US DOJ, and some funds were frozen.

Not paying affiliates seems like a bad move for FTP, as clearly they have other funds (since they are still allowing non US players to play on their site), and can readily transfer funds to non-US affiliates and players. Interestingly, they had no problem allowing US players to cash out their funds after their domains were returned by the DOJ.

This is the email I received:

Dear Affiliate,

We regret to inform you that due to recent actions by the U.S. government, Full Tilt Poker is still unable to facilitate real money play, deposits, or withdrawals by players based in the United States. Unfortunately, this includes the processing of any affiliate commission payments generated by your United States based players.

Rest assured that our technical and legal teams are working towards a solution that would allow us to return this commission to you as soon as possible. As always, all affiliate and player accounts remain safe and secure, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused by these actions.

Please note that affiliate commission payments for your Non-United States players will take place as normal this month.

We will keep you updated with any information as it becomes available. Thank you for your continued support.

Yeah, yeah, yeah… blame the DOJ. It’s easier to pass the blame than to accept responsibility for your actions. So here’s my counterpoint — you’re not going to pay affiliates because the DOJ said you had to cease US operations, but why are you not using the same argument to withhold payment to real money players who requested cashouts?

Just because the US government froze your cash doesn’t mean you can’t pay non-US affiliates on the MGR revenue FullTilt.

Now it seems nfl betting lines and odds are likely to be of interest to the poor guys in the US who cannot play poker online – they need to use their number-sharp brains for *something* odds related, right?
